Nostalgia for Sale

Record club, Vinyl Me Please, has a loyal following for their monthly reissue business. According to experts on this topic, Vinyl Me Please is doing the lord’s work: providing reissue’s of some of music’s most popular albums, albeit with a slight twist. In other cases, the reissue is a Soundcloud one-non-hit wonder that never should be. Since a famous eagle on our panel once said that “nostalgia is paying the price for the past”, whatever that exactly means, is this just a cash grab in the spirit of Record Store Day’s “Now on orange vinyl for the first time”, “released on audiophile 180 gram vinyl!” or additional unreleased track that wasn’t good enough for the original release?
